Nepal Maoists start government formation consultations in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, July 24 (ANI): The CPN (Maoist), which has refused to take the leadership of new Government in Nepal, has started consultations with leaders of other political parties and civil society activists.

According to Nepalnews, Party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal who is popularly known as 'Prachanda' held discussion with civil society leaders at his residence this morning on the future course of Nepali politics.

Civil society leaders are learnt to have advised Prachanda to lead the new Government.

Meanwhile, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal (RPP-N) chairman Kamal Thapa met Prachanda this morning.

During the meeting they discussed possible cooperation between the two parties against foreign interference in Nepal politics.

The Maoists also called for a joint meeting with all 25 parties in the Constituent Assembly to discuss the new political scenario created after Ram Raja Prasad Singh lost the presidential election. (ANI)
